Transportation Policies and Procedures 2024-2025

First, thank you for sending your child to ACE.  We take the responsibility of transportation of your child seriously and want to partner with you to make sure we are successful.  Please read below for information regarding ACE transportation policies and procedures.

Transportation Eligibility:

ACE provides bus transportation services by contracting with third party vendors.  Per the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), charter schools must provide the following:

  • Free transportation to all students who live more than one mile from the school and live in the same parish as the school’s physical location (Monroe City Limits).
  • Schools must provide all transportation services (including specialized transportation) required by an individualized education plan (IEP) to any eligible student.
  • Transportation must be provided by a vehicle approved for student transportation in accordance with BESE Bulletin 119-Louisiana School Transportation Specifications and Procedures.

Registering for Bus Transportation and/or Change of Address:

Please visit our website (www.aceforasd.org) for the direct link to the vendor providing transportation services.  In addition, specific contact information such as phone numbers, point of contacts, and website links, are contained in the student handbook and/or on the school website.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

Please partner with your child’s school to make bus transportation as smooth as possible.  You can help us accomplish this by having your child ready at the specified time set by the bus driver.  Last, you can greatly assist your school by maintaining an open line of communication.  Please use the contact information at the bottom of this plan for communication information to report any issues that may arise.

Bus Stop Locations:

Bus stop locations are set as door to door service for students living within Monroe City Limits as the school’s physical location.  Locations are based on safety factors for the students, bus drivers, and other motorists.

Student Conduct:

Riding the bus is an extension of the school and classroom.  Behavior expectations while in the school building carry over while riding the bus to and from school.  Students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and safe manner.
